Instead of the standard way that researchers and doctors approach new theories and treatments in fairly short articles in medical journals, Dr. Nordenstrom wrote a book – a very big, dense book.  One needs to know the ins and outs of a number of medical specialties in order to really understand what he is saying.  Before Dr. Nordenstrom died, he said that more research is needed, and that he would not see his work come to fruition.  He hoped that his work would be carried on by others.  

So . . . what does this have to do with flower essences?  Flower essences carry the electrical patterns of the petals used in making them.  By infusing that pattern into pure water, the pattern can be used as needed to repair, balance and stabilize the electrical system of any being, human or animal.  Though Dr. Nordenstrom did not work on describing the electrical system of animals other the human ones, we are alike enough to know that animals do have an electrical system.  Some holistic vets do acupuncture for animals, for example. What we do know is that flower essences work for animals as well as for human beings.

Given all of this, the only sure way to decide which essence will do what is needed in any given case is to use an electrical means to check.  Is there such a thing? 

Yes, indeed there is.  It is called applied kinesiology, or more commonly, "muscle testing".    Muscle testing uses two separate electrical circuits in the non-dominant hand of the person who is testing his or her self.  First, there is a question, and it must be answerable by a yes or no.  The thumb and the little finger touch and form a circuit for testing.  The thumb and forefinger of the dominant hand are inserted between the circle formed on the other hand and push out.  If the circuit stays strong, the fingers of the non-dominant hand stay strong and don't move, meaning the answer is yes.  "Yes" is life-affirming and helps the electrical system stay strong.  If the circuit lets go, the fingers come apart indicating a "no" answer. 

Thus, when asking about whether a flower essence is needed, and which one if one is needed, the answers are truly at your fingertips!  If you want to know which essence will work, whether at home or in a store where they're sold, use your fingers to find out.

There are, however, many flower essence practitioners who will tell you that the best way to choose is by reading the definitions of the essences you are working with.  I actually read in one book that muscle testing is too difficult; that it is easier to refer to definitions.  Personally, I think it a lot harder to memorize a long list of flower essence definitions.  However, the biggest problem is that the one that seems best might not be the exact one that will repair, stabilize and balance the electrical system you are working with. 

When I muscle test for my own essences, I often get insights I would not otherwise have realized, because the essence definition will tell me what is really going on for me.

Flowers and crystals each have a healing quality, which radiates and is available to us all the time.  The gifts are vibratory  like light and sound. 

In making the flower or crystal essence, the healing pattern is impressed energetically into water and fixed in sunlight with the assistance of nature spirits.  When the essence is complete, there is no physical remnant of the flower itself in the essence.  This distinguishes flower and crystal essences from essential oils and herbs, which are physical elements of the crystals, plants and flowers from which they are distilled.  Flower essences do not have a scent.

Herbs and essential oils work primarily on the physical and emotional levels.  Flower essences work on the electrical system, affecting physical, emotional, mental, and into the etheric levels, energetically repatterning a new wholeness.  On the etheric level, a gentle touch is all that is needed to effect major changes on the other levels of being.

Like a tuning fork, each flower or crystal essence has a particular pattern of vibration.  When we take an essence, it creates a reverberation in our being.  We literally come into resonance with the pattern of the essence.

WHAT ARE  ESSENCES?

One of my favorite ways of working through issues on any level - physical, emotional, mental or spiritual – is flower and crystal essences. 

There is actually a scientific basis for using essences.  It has to do with the body's electrical system.  The electrical system was discovered and mapped by Dr. Bjorn Nordenstrom.  He was a diagnostic radiologist at Karolinska Institute in Stockholm, Sweden.  During the fifties, he developed some revolutionary new procedures in his discipline, which are now standard practice: fine needle biopsy to diagnose lung cancer, and the techniques that led to first x-ray pictures of the insides of blood vessels in the lungs.  More recently, he was chair of the assembly that chooses the Nobel Prize winner in medicine. His credentials are extraordinary. 

Then he noticed an aura on a film unlike any he had never seen before, and he began to investigate.  The work took a couple of decades, during which time hediscovered the electrical system, and realized that electricity doesn't flow through tumors.  He realized that cancer takes hold in our bodies when the electrical flow has been interrupted in some way.  He then did some experiments with cancer patients who had not responded to any of the usual treatments. 

He manually reconnected the electrical systems of these patients by running positive and negative electrical energy through two fine wires, one inside the tumor and one outside.

Forty-six percent of the first twenty he treated with incurable lung cancer responded to his new treatment.  There was a reduction in the size of the tumor, or a complete disappearance for at least three to five years.  And the treatment was reasonably comfortable and pain free.
