Essence of 2010

There was a Blue Moon - as in "once in a blue moon" on New Years Eve. Of course the moon did not appear to be blue. However, it was a rare occasion, when we had two full moons in one month - and that rarity is what gave rise to the saying. This particular Blue Moon is even more rare because it comes with a partial eclipse of the moon. The blue moon together with an eclipse occurs only about every 91 years.

Today, on the Eve of 2010, I was directed to create an essence for this year.  From the astrology of this New Year, I know we will all need to stay grounded and clear.  As I asked for the specific essences to go into the combination for 2010, I was aware that the astrology tells a story of increasing energetic urgency.  We, the children of the Earth, must transform ourselves and the way we live and the way we connect with each other, with the Earth we live on, and with Spirit.  This essence will support us in doing exactly that, each in our own ways.  Enjoy!

Here are the specific essences which have gone into the 2010 Essence:

AYAHUASCA ESSENCE

Healing qualities:  Vision, transformation

This essence was made in semi-darkness by the light of a candle, which I later realized took the place of the sun in "setting" the essence.  While making it, the room smelled like Peru.

The water used came from springs at Macchu Picchu, Sacsaywaman, and Washington State, together with water from the Snoqualmie Falls, Washington, sacred mother water (Ammachi, Guru Mai), and spring water from the Peruvian wild feminine mountain, Salkintay.   The container of water went into the center of a genesa crystal (which is a plant genetic structure equivalent to our double helix, only different -- it cleans and stabilizes energy). When starting the essence, I heard three faint tones. As I added the ayahuasca, there was one loud blasting tone.  

While waiting for the essence to “set,” I closed my eyes, I immediately saw a beautiful crone with long white hair, who started telling me forcefully what ayahuasca is:

"I am the essence of ayahuasca. I have come to teach the children of this world about death. They have forgotten that death is a part of the cycle of life and they fear it. They must remember that every living thing must die in order to be reborn."

HERKIMER DIAMOND

Healing qualities: communication; out of body travel; vivid dreaming and recollection of dreams

Herkimer diamond is actually a form of clear quartz: double terminated, shaped roughly like a diamond, and very shiny like a polished diamond.  For a long time they were found only in Herkimer, New York, though now they have been found in Oaxaca, Mexico and in Spain.

As a clear quartz crystal, Herkimer enhances energy: of other crystals and other healing work.  Because it is double terminated, it has a particular affinity for enhancing communication.  It also facilitates out of body travel, and therefore dreaming.  The dreams are very vivid, and therefore it is easier to recall the dreams.

Herkimer diamond essence enhances dreaming and dream recall.  It allows the soul to soar, traveling into realms of spirit during the dreamtime.  Using the elixir, you might find your dreams become quite vivid.

BORAGEBorago officinalis (blue)

Healing qualities: Serene heart focus; able to experience a full range of emotions and remain balanced

Borage flower essence carries the quality of courage.  It strengthens the heart chakra, and allows us to experience the full range of our feelings and still stay clear within our being.  The flower is a tiny blue star that makes one smile to see its presence.

COAST REDWOODSequoia Sempervirens

Healing qualities: Strength; longevity; meditation

Sequoia tree essence brings strength and longevity. It is the tallest tree in the world, reaching up to 112 m in height, and 7 meters in diameter at the base. The oldest known Coast Redwood is about 2200 years old; many others in the wild exceed 600 years of age.  The native habitat of these trees is along the coast of northern California, where they grow in groves and live long and silent lives.  Walking through a grove of mature trees is a meditation in itself. 

MOTHER WATER        

Sacred waters from the Earth – from many continents – stabilize and ground this essence for 2010.
